Faction Gathering

The Faction Gathering, a mix of training and joint vacation activities, is held once a year during the summer (Northern Hemisphere). This is where our members meet from all over the world to train together and exchange ideas.
 
As part of the week long event, we offer daily Irish Sick classes and an extensive supporting program with various activities and siteseeing opportunties.

The Gathering will be held every year in a different country, all ISFW instructors can apply to host this event. Applications for 2013 gathering for example must be received before July 2012.

In 2012 we have organized the gathering to take place in Newfoundland, Canada - where the roots of our stick-fighting system of the Doyles was passed on and kept alive after the family left Ireland. (see Rince at Bhata Uisce Beatha). The Newfoundland capital of St. John's will be the host city for this event.

In addition to daily training sessions we have planned the following activities

- Whale watching
- Sightseeing
- Barbecue Night
- Visit the street with the highest density of pubs
- Iceberg watching
